I was recently talking with Andrew Myles (see my previous posts: INTERVIEW WITH ANDREW MYLES - PART 1 and Interview with Andrew Myles - Part 2). Andrew lives in Australia where voting is compulsory and there are fines for those who do not vote. He mused that one of the problems with U.S. elections is that so few people who are eligible to vote actually do so. He thought that Australia’s compulsory voting system was preferable because it means that every voice is heard, and every voter has a reason to learn about and care about the political process.
This blog focuses on standards, standard related policies and other standard related issues. Those issues and policies can be significantly impacted by governments and their policies, laws, regulations and enforcement practices. But there are so many other reasons why who is in government matters. If you are a U.S. citizen, you have a choice today. Vote like you care. Vote like our future depends on it because it does. Make your voice heard and VOTE!
